Change in Emmi’s Board of Directors
Hans Herzog to leave Emmi’s Board of Directors, Franz Steiger nominated as new member
Lucerne, 16 December 2014 – The Board of Directors of Emmi AG proposes to elect Franz Steiger as a new member of the Board. He is nominated in place of Hans Herzog, who is no longer standing. The Board of Directors is confident that Franz Steiger, an experienced agricultural expert, would make a valuable contribution to shaping Emmi’s strategy and to ensuring the governance of the company.
Hans Herzog (63) has been a member of the Board of Directors of Emmi AG since 2002. He is also a member of the Board of the Central Switzerland Milk Producers Cooperative (ZMP), which holds a majority stake in Emmi via its subsidiary ZMP Invest AG. As Hans Herzog will no longer be able to stand for election to the Board at the ZMP assembly of delegates on 16 April 2015 due to the restriction on number of terms of office, he will also not stand for election to the Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting of Emmi AG on 22 April 2015. The Board of Directors would like to thank him for his dedication and the part he has played in the company’s success.
The Board of Directors nominates Franz Steiger (56), a master farmer and a proven expert in Swiss agricultural policy, as a new member. Franz Steiger works as an independent farmer on his dairy farm in Schlierbach. He has been a member of the Board of the Central Switzerland Milk Producers Cooperative (ZMP) since 2000 and Vice President of ZMP since 2006. He is also a delegate of the Swiss Farmers’ Union and the Emmentaler Organisation.
The election will be held as part of the next Annual General Meeting of shareholders on 22 April 2015.
